| SCHOLARSHIPS,We are investigating sites to recommend for finding scholarships online. Many scholarships are available to students who never find them. Just because they don't know they exist. For example, there are scholarships for students with specific names, or students with unusual interests, or by students religion, or by place or country of birth and even for certain birthdays, etc. A good place to start is your State of residence. Look up your State, type 'scholarships' (and the name of your State) in the Google search window and go from there. After that, try other States. Some scholarships do not require specific State residence and some States have a liberal residency requirement. Following are some sites for this kind of info and recommended by noted individuals or leading periodicals. Some are free, like;
www.collegelink (part of fastweb) and www.scholarship.com.
Some sites that do have fees are www.synexpress.com,
and www.fastweb.com
(fastweb also has some free services). The scholarship money amount varies,
with most in the $1,000.00 to $3,000.00 range. To help you, all of these
sites can make your name and address available to schools and others who
will send information to you by mail and email. In addition, the college
of your choice is a good site to check for scholarship links and availability.
And don't forget to check your States for Grants based on family income.
Grants are in addition to scholarships. Most important!!! Check the information
below on applying for a Pell
Grant. ................................................................................... ***** PELL GRANT ***** Everyone should know about the federally funded PELL
